calling other programs using matlab

how can i call modelsim software using matlab and give some input values? can anyone explain how this can be done

Modelsim provides a TCL interface. You can call into this interface from MATLAB by writing a TCL script and then calling the TCL interpreter using the ! (bang) operator or SYSTEM command.
