Cannot open Matlab installer on mac
Show older comments
I tried to open the Matlab 2016a standalone version installer on my MacBook which is running macOS Sierra 10.12.1. The installer opened, but closed instantly in less than a second after showing up in Dock. Tried re-downloading the file, turning off firewalls and it still doesn't work. When looking at the console of my Mac, it raised the error "Asked to free space for a volume we don't control".

Perhaps the current user does not have access privilegs for the disk?

try this:
open the installer by right-click InstallForMacOSX -> show package content -> Contents -> MacOS -> double click InstallForMacOSX
