Likeness between the source code and the algorithm

1 view (last 30 days)
Hello. When I enter :
edit fmincon
I find a source code that has no resemblance to the algorithm given in the Matlab documentation. Especially the article "An In terior Point Algorithm for Large Scale Nonlinear Programming". This algorithm contains two while loop though it is not the case for the source code.

So? And what is your point?
First of all, fmincon offers several choices of fundamental algorithms. And that you saw a while loop inside the code does not seem to be terribly relevant, an implementation detail perhaps.
Finally, it is a terrible idea to edit source ode. That suffers the risk you might modify it without realizing you did, and then save a bug into the code. Use the type command instead to look at source code.

Thanks Jhon for your clarification, I'm going to change anything in the source code but i try to just understand the procedure. If i want to see the algorithm (Flowchart) with which works fmincon. How I should proceed?

I don't understand what you mean by an implementation detail. Thanks!
