image on axes

Hi. Im working on a project. I want to put a picture on my GUI just for layouting purposes. I dont need the GUI to ask user to upload image but just simply have a picture on my gui. a static picture using axes. But i do not know how to do it. Help please. Thank you

Place an axis on your figure using GUIDE. Then somewhere in the code use imread() to read the image file into a variable, then use imshow() to display the image in the axes. Try MAGIC (<http://www.mathworks.com/matlabcentral/fileexchange/24224>) if you want to make it easier on you and get a fast start.
