Dear experts,
I have some troubles to interconnect 2 software programs. One is programmed in Visual studio and the other one is a GUI in matlab. Both software tools are running in the same PC.
In my particular case, the software programmed in Visual Studio has to send a sort of signal/bit/flag or something like that in order to get up the software programmed in Matlab which performs several calculations when it receives the signal sent from the Visual Studio Software.
- How can I do to interconnect both software in Matlab?
- Besides, which function can I use to hear the Visual studio software?
- What should I hear (thread,signal,...) in order to wait the notice signal coming from Visual Studio?
Thank you in advance for your time.
Best regards,
Carlos.

Simple technique is, write data to a file from the program and hear/read the same file from GUI functions to find the data. You can use normal fread() function inside GUI callbacks.
fileID = fopen('filename.txt','r');
A = fscanf(fileID,'%d'); %read a number
fclose(fileID);
