MATLAB multiple sessions

Is it possible to have multiple MATLAB sessions opened on the same computer which is having MATLAB machine license in WIN OS? How does it behave in Linux?

Yes works great for me in Win7. only issue, is a way to better know which is which when you multitask.. is there a way to change to menu color, like a skin in Winamp? (not the background or text which is annoying) Also is there a way to change the name appearing in the task bar? This could help to easily jump between them. Thanks O

Short answer: You can have multiple MATLABs open. How it behaves is defined by the capability of the system you are running on. It works this way on all platforms, although the Mac requires launching the multiple sessions a little differently:

Actually, on a Mac you can now launch a second session (instance) from the Dock. See http://www.mathworks.com/help/techdoc/rn/bs884k5-1.html#btfup_h-1
