designing feed network of micro strip patch array
Show older comments
hello i have a patch array , is there a way in matlab (rf toolbox or antenna tool box) to get a design of the microstrip feed network for the patch array?
Thanks

Hi fima
Yes. If the patch array is already available, RF PCB Toolbox can be used to design and integrate the microstrip feed network.
A good starting point is the Corporate Feed Divider Network for a Linear Patch Antenna Array example, which demonstrates a corporate-feed network using the powerDividerCorporate element.
For more advanced feed architectures, such as monopulse or beamforming networks, see the S-Band Monopulse Tracking Radar Antenna example, which integrates a patch array with a rat-race coupler feed network.
You can then export the S-parameters of the feed network and use them in RF Blockset for circuit and system-level simulations. In addition, the antenna object or its radiation pattern (embedded element pattern for Array) can be imported into RF Blockset, enabling end-to-end link and beamforming simulations that include both the feed network and antenna characteristics.
