Request: Global Search / Replace

Either no documentation exists (or I cannot find it) on how to use Global Search / Replace in Editor. Does anyone know where that is for Matlab? If it is not available, does anyone have a workaround for doing Global Find / Replace in MATLAB program files in the editor?

Sorry, but Answers is not a place to put enhancement requests. If you have an idea, then send it directly to MathWorks. Click on the " Contact Us " link on the top right of your browser page.

Hello Dennis,
There is a "Find Files" feature which may do part of what you need. You can open it by clicking the small arrow to the right of the Current Folder Browser and selecting "Find Files". It doesn't search all of the files open in the Editor, but has the options to search the whole MATLAB search path, the current folder, a specified folder, and you can choose to include subfolders or not.
If this is not sufficient for you, John is correct. The easiest way to get a feature request to development teams is to contact Technical Support with your request.

I requested the feature. Hopefully more requests will make it happen sooner. Cheers2u Eddie

You can request it, but I would not expect it to happen.
I requested this feature quite a few years ago. It seemed extremely useful and not that complicated to implement.
The best response I could have received to my request would have been "yes". The second best, "no". Unfortunately, I could get no indication one way or another.
After a few years I wrote my own workaround. I really wish I had done it much sooner.
