Zooming a portion of a subplot in that subplot

Hello,
I saw in Zooming a portion of figure in a figure that it was possible to zoom in a figure inside that figure. I'm trying to do same with subplots, but it is not working. I don't know if this is even possible. Can someone help me, please?

Elisa - how are you trying to do this with the subplot? Please show some or all of your code.
