Did you follow the procedure from the example here: http://www.mathworks.com/help/techdoc/ref/sendmail.html
Perhaps your SMTP_Username or SMTP_Password are incorrect?

Have the same problem. It worked before (while ago) and now i can't make it work. Can any one help with this one?
my code:
props = java.lang.System.getProperties; props.setProperty('mail.smtp.auth','true'); props.setProperty('mail.smtp.socketFactory.class', 'javax.net.ssl.SSLSocketFactory');
setpref('Internet', 'E_mail', myaddress); setpref('Internet', 'SMTP_Username', myuser); setpref('Internet', 'SMTP_Password', mypassword); setpref('Internet', 'SMTP_Server', 'smtp.gmail.com'); %setpref('Internet', 'SMTP_Server', 'email'); %setpref('Internet', 'SMTP_Server', 'xmail.weizmann.ac.il'); props.setProperty('mail.smtp.socketFactory.port', '465');
sendmail(mailaddress, SubjectString, 'error message');
i get:
??? Error using ==> sendmail at 168 Authentication failed.
