text2bitseq not found

I am trying to use the function 'text2bitseq' that I've seen in some code from a "From signals to packets" course but I am getting an error saying that that function is undefined. First I thought that I did not have some needed toolkit installed but I have searched for it in the Matlab documentation page and I haven't found anything about it, but the guy from the course uses it all the time.
Is just a function that is now deprecated? if so, what should I use instead. If not, what am I missing?
Thanks

text2bit is not a matlab command, you need to write a separate function to convert a text/string into binary data and call this function wherever required. You can refer to this link if it helps.

Seems to be used here. You could contact the author of the lab tutorial.
