finding the number of connected component.

I'm doing the project on leaf disease detection and classification.I have to differentiate leaf as healthy and unhealthy leaves based on number of connected components.
if number of connected component is 1 then the leaf is healthy else unhealthy. I have tried with bwconncomp() but i'm getting the number of objects as more than one even for healthy leaves. so , please can anyone suggest me some other solutions. Thanks in advance.

attach a sample matrix that you feel should have a single connected component . Be sure to save as mat and attach that as datatype is important for this purpose .
