after compile, .m no longer available?

I compiled code using mcc and also the deploytool. It needs to pull functions in from the Path variable, which is set during compile. It does compile, but when running, still complains some .m file is not found in the temporary "expanded CTF archive". Then says:
"This is typically caused by calls to ADDPATH in your startup.m or matlabrc.m files. Please see the
compiler documentation and use the ISDEPLOYED function to ensure ADDPATH commands are not executed
by deployed applications."
And then says:
Caused by:
Previously accessible file ".....m" is now inaccessible.
I think i just need to train it to pull ALL the right functions in when compiling?
