Inverter model with ideal switch vs N-Channel IGBT

6 views (last 30 days)
Hi together,
I have a model of inverter which is explicitly developed for assessment of EMC behaviour of the drive system. So far the performance achieved with ideal switches has been sufficient. Currently this model has to be supplemented with the real IGBT or MOSFET models. Unfortunately after substitution of ideal switches with N-Channel IGBT models output current have strange effects. I am not capable to understand and fix these problem. A very simple model has been used for validation of these two options and I still couldn't find the reason of this behaviour of my model with real IGBT models. The phase current of the inverter are in attached. Perhaps somebody knows what the reason might be. Thank you in advance.

Hi Illia,
Have you tried running the IGBT model with the gate resistors? Would it be possible for you to export the model to 2017b so I can try and replicate the issue?

Hi Arvind,
I have already tried with and witout gate resistors and also with andditinal parasitics etc.
The model is in attached

Hello Illia,
the mostly likely issue is that the devices are not parameterized correctly, or the correct gate voltage is not being applied. If you can provide the values for your model, we can test to see what the actual issue is. From an architecture standpoint, you have connected your devices correctly from what I saw.

Joel

Hi Joel,
sure. the module used in our case is a standard Infineon module. I have to say that i didn't use the correct parameters, it was a rough try with the other model and it didn't work out.

Hello Illia,
do you have an init file? I can't chekc your gain files to make sure the controls line up with the correct parameters as there are a number of variables used in your Simulink model that I don't know the values of.
Regards,
Joel
