Rapid Accelerator does not launch

I switched from R2016a to R2016b. Now, if I try to run my model in Rapid Accelerator Mode in R2016b, I get the following error:
The model that you are trying to run in External mode does not match the application running on your target. Rebuild the model, run it on your target, and start External mode simulation again.
Component:Simulink | Category:Modelerror
External mode commands may only be issued when in external mode and connected to the target
Component:Simulink | Category:Modelerror
I did also follow the instructions in https://de.mathworks.com/matlabcentral/answers/335092-can-i-use-microsoft-visual-studio-2017-with-matlab-r2017a-or-r2016b for detecting VS17-compiler. I also deleted all files, that matlab builds for simulation. So the build-process alone seems to work.
Is there any solution? To recap: Everything works in R2016a, but does not in R2016b, without any changes to my model.
