if crn(tow_bar)==crn(tow_min)
tow_min=tow_bar;
else
tow_max=tow_bar;
end

tow0=tow_bar;
i have done this far and i dont understand how to obtain the time from this algorithm

I think this line should be changed:
% if crn(tow_bar)==crn(tow_min)
if crn(tow_bar) < 0
