Construct two design matrices for 6 equally-spaced points (5 subintervals) from −1 to 1 (inclusive): (i) the Vandermonde matrix, and (ii) a matrix with the Legendre polynomials P0(x) through P5(x) as its columns. Compute the condition number of each matrix and discuss which is more reliable for higher-order polynomial interpolation. Please Help as I have no idea where to even start.
