Student Version Missing Functions Audioread and Spectrogram

I am missing functions such as audioread and spectogram.
When I type in help audioread or help spectogram it comes up with nothing found.
These functions are supposed to be in MATLAB and do not require any special toolbox.
I called MathWorks and they couldn't help me at all because I am running the student version.

It appears that audioread should be part of MATLAB, and spectrogram is in the Signal Processing Toolbox, so it looks like you should have access to them in the Student version. What version of MATLAB are you using? I wonder if these functions are new?

Note that you might not have installed the Signal Processing Toolbox, as it does not install by default.

For Spectogram use specgram. For audioread use wavread. Problem solved
