Is there an example Freescale S12X target for Real-Time Workshop and Simulink using the CodeWarrior Compiler?

12 views (last 30 days)
I am interested in generating code using Real-Time Workshop that can be embedded on the Freescale S12X processor. In particular, I want to be able to generate device driver code and integrate that to my model, automate the compilation and linking process in CodeWarrior, and download my application onto the S12X processor. I would also like to use the CAN Calibration Protocol and Simulink External Mode to log signals and update/tune the parameters in real-time.

A demo kit containing example models, code generation files, and an instruction guide on generating code for the Freescale S12X processor using the CodeWarrior compiler can be found in the Related Documents section of this solution. The instruction guide explains the steps needed to run the demo that shows how to generate code for the processor, compile and link using CodeWarrior, download the application onto the processor, and use the CAN Calibration Protocol and Simulink External Mode to log signals and update/tune the parameters in real-time.
A video showing an overview of the demo kit can be found via the Videos & Examples on the main product page for Embedded Coder, under Embedded Processor Deployment, titled "Programming the Freescale S12X target".
The intent of the demo kit is to provide a working example that end users can use as a base to create their own target solution using the Real-Time Workshop and its Customizing Targets guide. The intent is not to provide a full featured and maintained Embedded Target product as may be provided by MathWorks or third-party products listed in supported hardware page. The supported hardware information can be accessed via the Embedded Coder main product page, via the supported hardware link.

If you are looking for more complete solution for the S12x processor, our partner SimuQuest offers the QuantiPhi product that provides Device Driver Blocksets for the S12x processor. You can find more information at the following page:
<http://www.mathworks.com/products/connections/product_detail/product_35909.html>
Or by navigating to the Third-Party Products and Services main page, selecting products and then QuantiPhi.
Note: This solution uses several third-party products to compile and download the C code to the S12X. Evaluation versions were used but the demo kit also supports full versions of these products. The installation guide identifies the specific releases versions used and provides information with links on how to obtain these products, but these details may change. So contact the third-party vendors with questions or information on how to obtain the third-party products.
