Camera Sensor Comparison using Input and Output Images

5 views (last 30 days)
I have several different camera sensors I am comparing. What I'd like to do is start off with an initial input image, apply the camera sensor specifications at a certain altitude, and display what the resulting output image would look like. I've gone through the image processing and image acquisition toolbox documentation, but I can't find any examples or functions that appear to be of use. Any help would be appreciated.
I am willing to write my own *.m functions if necessary. But I don't want to reinvent the wheel.
Thank you! AH

What kind of properties are the sensor specifications?
Just to take a random example, would one of the specifications you would be interested in be the noise level, in the sense that CCD cameras at higher altitudes would be exposed to higher cosmic ray levels? (If so, then altitude is not the only determining factor -- e.g., magnetic field variations due to geographic positions would influence the ozone thickness.)
Are you looking at factors such as the density and thus index of refraction of air? Or is the normal operation of the sensor affected by ambient air pressure? Or is air temperature a factor?
It would help if you were to describe how/why the image would change with altitude.
