PFC with bridgeless converter
Version 1.0.0 (44.6 KB) by
Abdelrahman Farghly
A Bridgeless PFC converter is a high-efficiency alternative to the traditional PFC circuit that removes the full-bridge rectifier
Basic Topology – Bridgeless Boost PFC
✅ Common Configurations:
- Totem-Pole Bridgeless Boost (popular for digital control)
- Conventional Bridgeless Boost
- Uses two boost converters, each active during one half of the AC cycle.
🔁 How It Works:
- In each half-cycle of the AC input:
- One leg of the converter is active (depending on polarity)
- The input current is shaped by controlling the switch duty cycle
- The output DC voltage is regulated, and input current is sinusoidal
