Working Principle
The buck PFC converter works as:
  • A step-down converter that operates in discontinuous conduction mode (DCM) or continuous conduction mode (CCM).
  • It shapes the input current to follow the input AC voltage (to improve power factor).
  • Controlled using:
  • Average current mode control (digital/analog)
  • Hysteresis current control
  • PI-based voltage loop for output regulation
