KnuckleForces

A Formula Student app to simulate knuckle loads and validate structural material safety.

You are now following this Submission

KnuckleForces is a specialized engineering tool designed for Formula Student teams to bridge the gap between vehicle dynamics and structural integrity. By inputting vehicle parameters and suspension hardpoints, users can simulate load transfers during extreme maneuvers like hard braking and high-G cornering. Ensuring rigorous accuracy, the application accounts for all ten distinct forces applied to the steering knuckle, generating precise 3-axis resultants for both front and rear axles. Additionally, an integrated database of 14 high-performance materials instantly calculates the Factor of Safety (FoS), empowering engineers to confidently balance strength, weight, machinability, and cost in their unsprung mass designs.
