the function calculates the (complex) values of index of refraction (gold_n) or the values of dielectric constant (gold_eps) of gold, as a function of wavelength.
the values calculate using linear interpolation of the values given in: P. B. Johnson, and R. W. Christy, "Optical Constants of the Noble Metals," Physical Review B 6, 4370 (1972).
