Daniel J. Auger was born in Rainham, Kent, UK. He received the BA and MEng degrees in electrical and information sciences from the University of Cambridge, UK, in 2000, the MA degree from the University of Cambridge, UK, in 2003, and the PhD degree in control engineering from the University of Cambridge, UK, in 2005.

From 2004 to 2008, he was with BAE Systems Integrated System Technologies Ltd, Chelmsford, UK. From 2008 to 2013, he was with The MathWorks Ltd, Cambridge, UK. He is currently Reader in Electrification, Automation and Control at Cranfield University, Beds., UK. His research has been concerned with applications of control to electrified and autonomous vehicles and the development of BMS algorithms for lithium-sulfur traction batteries.

Dr Auger is a Senior Member of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers in the US, a Chartered Engineer in the UK and a Fellow of the Institution of Engineering and Technology, UK.
