How do I plot a line with both thick and thin dashes?

I need to recreate a number of plots for an assignment. One of the plots shows a basic dashed line with thick horizontal dashes. The thing is, this plot also shows thin vertical lines between the thicker horizontal dashes. (Almost like a '.-' plot but with '|' instead of '.'). I know how to change the line width and style as well as the marker but I have never seen anything like this nor do I know how to recreate it. Any insight is appreciated.

Christopher, could it be the plot grid you are talking about? You can turn it on/off using grid on and grid off. If it is not please attach a screen shot, that'd make it a bit easier.
