What one should know / learn to work with MATLAB?

3 views (last 30 days)
I am a great fan of MATLAB since Day 1 I got introduced to it. I started reading a lot of books and get to know the various functionalities MATLAB has. But I have a question that keeps bothering me since I am not from Engineering or Science background.
I learned MATLAB functionalities - namely declaring scalars, vectors and matrices. Then scripting, loops, control flow, graphs etc. but I feel knowing this I cannot state that I know MATLAB ( as I understand the various domains MATLAB is used for) - so my basic question is what we should learn from / in MATLAB - is it that one should be very strong in MATHS (cause I feel without knowing MATHS, MATLAB will not come much in use to a software developer) or something else?
Please guide me that what background knowledge one should have to work with MATLAB. Also what functionalities one should learn of MATLAB?
Thanks in advance.

Sure, knowing math and programming will help. As well as the field you're working in whether it's physics, thermodynamics, chemistry, engineering, optics, bioinformatics, psychology, neuroscience, or whatever.
