Hello everyone, I am using Matlab's Student Version for my PhD research. Today I checked this version's terms and condition. It says:
" MATLAB Student and the Student Suite can be used for course work as long as you are enrolled at a degree-granting institution, high school or continuing education program. Use in professional research conducted at universities and commercial use of student-use software is strictly prohibited ."
I was wondering if I am eligible to use this version or not. My research is not industry oriented, and there is no commercial use for my research. I am using Matlab for improving a methodology which currently is used in social sciences. But the phrase " professional research " has concerned me. Can you please let me know if you have any information about the eligibility for using this version. Thanks a lot.

You should absolutely talk to your University's MathWorks' Account Manager.
In general most of us technical folks on here won't answer legal questions.
