Hi,
I have 7 correlation matrices, and would like to see which correlation matrix (1 to 6) is most similar to correlation matrix 7. The correlation matrices are 63 x 63 matrices. I used "corrcoef" to create them, so i do have the underlying data
Thanks for your help
I have the following toolboxes in matlab:
Curve Fitting Toolbox
Database Toolbox
Datafeed Toolbox
Financial Toolbox
Optimization Toolbox
Parallel Computing Toolbox
Parallel Computing Toolbox
Spreadsheet Link EX
Statistics Toolbox

Do you have a definition in your head of what you mean by "most similar"? If so, then is it a mathematical definition, a firm conceptual definition, or a hazy conceptual definition?

Agree with the cyclist. Define most similar? minimum absolute difference?
[junk idx] = min(sum(sum(abs(bsxfun(@minus,corrmat3d,corrmat_care_about)),1),2))
