Human Body Segmentation for Clothing fit

Hi!

I'm doing a project for a tailor shop which gives auto measurements for a shirt.So,

(1) I want to know how to remove background from an image and edge detection for the rest of the image

(2) I want to know how to take human body parts measurements (like collar, sleeves, etc) for a shirt from an image

I'm using MATLAB r2014a
