I have an mtx file of real data, and I'm using Microsoft Visual Studio to read it. MATLAB cannot see the mtx file when I try to import it using import data tab. So, I copy and paste the data into an excel spreadsheet and then import it into MATLAB. Is there a better and more efficient way to do this ?
Thanks!

I am not sure I know what a .mtx file is, but if you can copy/paste the data into excel, it must just be a text file with a unique extension. I suspect if you change the file type filter (dropdown menu on the bottom right of the Import Data gui) to 'All Files (*.*)', you will be able to import it using the Import Data tool.
