Hardware setup for Android can't find Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 pro. adb devices on windows command prompt, however, can find the device.

May I know what is the MATLAB version? If it is R2021b, Can you please select the latest tools option on the very first screen of hardware setup and check if the issue exists or not?

It is R2021b. I have now tried with "latest version" option after installing these and the problem has been solved. however, I had to reboot and attempt multiple times using "latest version" and "tested version" back and forth before it was done.
