How to merge multiple jpeg or pdf files to a single pdf file?

I have few figure files (format: figure_XX.jpeg or pdf ; XX is the serial number of the figure), which I need to merge to make a single pdf file. Any solution?

I don't think this is possible with matlab. You would be better off with a dedicated program anyway. I use pdfcreator but I'm sure there are other choices.
