Can you explain what does mean of plot (z_x(:,1),z_y(:,1:2))?

You get a two graph plot where the x axis data is the first column of z_x, and y axis data is the first two columns of z_y.
It's equivalent to:
plot(z_x(:, 1), z_y(:, 1)); hold on;
plot(z_x(:, 1), z_y(:, 2));
