fatal exception simbiology file loading error

Hi I am trying to open simbiology (I think I successfully opened it previously but unsure). I get the following message:

Caught "std::exception" Exception message is:
FatalException(unknown)
WARNING: Failed to load file "C:\Program Files\MATLAB\R2014a\bin\win64\libmwsb_bmodel.dll".
Caught MathWorks::System::FatalException

and if I try again:

Caught "std::exception" Exception message is:
FatalException(unknown)
MATLAB:dispatcher:loadLibrary Can't reload 'C:\Program Files\MATLAB\R2014a\bin\win64\libmwsb_bmodel.dll'.
Caught MathWorks::System::FatalException

So far I have tried reinstalling matlab, looking for the file, and disabling or modifying my virus protection. That file is definitely there. Unsure if relevant, but I can open other apps. This is matlab R2014a on win8.1, x64.
