Permission error when deleting files on Linux

I get the following error when I try to delete a file using:
delete("filename")
The error message is:
An error occurred while initializing child process: While attempting to execute "mv -f ..."
Where it tries to move the file to the folder "/tmp/MATLAB_Files_02-Aug-2022_14_59_17/" (as described in the documentation for delete and recycle)
Similarly, if I try to delete the file using the window explorer in Matlab (sending it to the temp folder), it says I may not have permission.
However when I run
recycle('off')
I can delete the file permanently.
I would like to be able to send the file to the temp folder or the recycle bin on Linux.
Some implementation details:
- Matlab on Linux
- Matlab was installed in my home folder and without sudo access.

I understand that you are currently experiencing an issue when trying to temporarily delete the files.
This is a known issue and has been fixed in the R2022b release of MATLAB. To resolve this issue, I recommend updating your MATLAB version to R2022b. For more detailed information, I encourage you to refer to the following bug report:
I hope these suggestions help you resolve the issue you are facing.
