Importing antenna with several materials from CST

29 views (last 30 days)
I have modelled a microstrip-fed PCB slot antenna in CST Studio Suite and would like to use Phased Array System Toolbox to form an array of these antennas and investigate suitable array patterns for direction of arrival estimation.
As the antenna has a layer of dielectric between the feed line and the slot, I cannot use Antenna Toolbox's slot antenna as-is, as it only features the top plane and the feed is too different from my model. What would be the best way to import or model this antenna in Matlab? I have the S11 parameter across all frequencies of interest, and farfield radiation patterns at specific frequencies which can be exported from CST.
So far I've tried using the phased.CustomAntennaElement object, but I don't have the magnitude pattern across the whole frequency range of interest, only at specific frequencies.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Hi mark,
As per my understanding, you want to import your antenna model to MATLAB and investigate the patterns. You can use customAntennaStl to import your model if it is a metal antenna. You can also use pcbAntennaDesignerApp or pcbStack to design your model .
You can refer this video about how to design a custom antenna in pcbAntennaDesignerApp.
