Can I add toolboxes to Matlab Home Later On?

6 views (last 30 days)
Q1: I am a Matlab author and have used Matlab extensively in my two books. Now that I am aware of Matlab Home I want to know if I can recommend it to my readers. To find out, I plan to order Matlab Home and try it out on my book scripts. If I need certain additional toolboxes, say, like the signal processing toolbox, can I order the toolbox separately and install it after the basic Matlab Home package was installed?
Q2: I currently have the regular Matlab with several toolboxes. Will the installation of Matlab Home interfere the regular Matlab installation?
Thanks.

I may be wrong so just adding as a comment rather than an answer, but I'm fairly sure Matlab Home is just a different license, but the base Matlab product is the same as you would already have installed so in terms of interfering I would assume it is just a case of activating and deactivating licenses and you will get access to whatever toolboxes the activated license(s) have access to.
I'm also fairly sure though not certain that you can add toolboxes at a later date to a Matlab Home license otherwise it is extremely limiting in its offering I would think.
I don't think you will notice any difference between Matlab Home and your regular Matlab in terms of the base product though for running scripts. Some toolboxes are unavailable for Matlab home, but the rest should be the same.

seems to allow you to add toolboxes to a cart at any time.

Q1. I believe so. Just call and ask them. Or see this: https://www.mathworks.com/store/link/faq#home where it says you can.
Q2. Why would you want Home on the computer if you already have the full version?
