Dear all,
I need to run a large program written in MATLAB 2008b and it is very time consuming to convert it to the latest version of MATLAB.
That is why I downloaded MATLAB 2008b from https://www.mathworks.com/downloads/, following carefully the instructions that I found there, which are shown in the attached Fig-1.jpg
However, during the third (3rd) step of the installation procedure shown in Fig-1.jpg, i.e., after I double-click installer.exe to launch the installer, the message shown in Fig-2.jpg appears, where I select to "Install automatically using the Internet (recommended)" and, when I select "Next", an error message appears mentioning that "There was an error connecting to the MathWorks. Check your network connection and/or try again later", as is shown in the attached file Fig-3.jpg
I tried several times from different computers and from different computer networks to complete the intallation procedure, however, always exactly the same error message of the attached file Fig-3.jpg was appearing.
Thank you in advance for your help to solve this.

Hi,
I understand that you are facing issues during the installation of MATLAB R2008b. Please note that MATLAB releases prior to R2009a are not compatible with Windows 7 or later. Kindly check the following link to know the system requirements and supported compilers for previous versions of MATLAB:
However,to resolve the issue, you can try performing the installation offline. Please refer to the following link to know the steps:-
Note that for earlier versions of MATLAB, you must obtain both the Installer file and the package for each product. Then, keep the unextracted zip file of each package in the same folder as the installer.
If the issue persists, please reach out to Technical Support team with your system information to get the appropriate resolution: https://www.mathworks.com/support/contact_us.html
I hope it resolves your query.
