Home Licenses are for personal use only and cannot be used for government, academic, commercial, or organizational purposes.
Student Licenses are for use by students and teachers in educational settings and must not be used for commercial, professional, or revenue-generating activities.
For licensing information regarding MATLAB Home or Student, see the Student License and Home License Installation and Use Addendum of MathWorks license agreement. This agreement can be accessed from the license.txt or license_agreement.txt file in the root MATLAB directory. The default location for the MATLAB root directory is listed below:
If MATLAB is not at this location, enter the following command into MATLAB. MATLAB will then display the root directory.
matlabroot

license.txt is the old name. For several releases the file name has been license_agreement.txt
