Why matlab is not recognizing the audio signal from line-in port?

I have connected an AUX cable between phone and laptop, when I record voice from phone in matlab via microphone it is getting recorded but when I use same using line-in from same port it isn't record the voice i.e., coming from that port. and I checked whether the matlab is recognizing the line-in port or not using audiodevinfo command, it is able to show line-in port in matlab? but not able to record voice signal from that port. I have connection of same port for microphone and line-in to my laptop?
