I enabled new desktop mode on R2023b for my Mac, and now MATLAB won't launch. How can I get MATLAB to launch?

MathWorks has identified the issue and is working on a fix for release as soon as possible.
As a workaround, please do the following:
1. Force Quit MATLAB. This is because MATLAB is technically launching, but hangs on startup (i.e. becomes unresponsive on startup).
2. Open Activity Monitor and set make sure View -> All Processes is checked. Search for "MATLAB" to find all MATLAB processes. Force Quit all those MATLAB processes.
3. Delete the following folders:
~/Documents/MATLAB/SupportPackages/
~/Library/Application Support/MathWorks/
If you have other MATLAB releases installed, deleting those folders will affect them, and your MATLAB preferences will be deleted.
4. Delete and reinstall the prerelease. Do not enable the new desktop.
