Side panels in AppDesigner do not appear in Version R2023a

I switched from R2022b to R2023a. Everything is working fine except the AppDesigner. The side panels do not appear. Until now I have done a reset of my user settings by deleting the files in my roaming folder and I've reinstalled Java. Nothing worked so far. In the picture you get an impression how my AppDesigner looks in version R2023a.

This could be due to a corrupted JSON file that stores the side panel layout information.

You can follow the steps below to resolve this issue:

1. Delete the "AppDesignerMainPanelLayout.json" file (located in "C:\Users\<User Account Name>\AppData\Roaming\MathWorks\MATLAB\R2023a\")
2. Restart MATLAB
3. Launch App Designer.

sorry to see that you are experiencing this problem. For me, it works fine, but that is of course no help to you.

In the Answers post you have linked, a user comments that installing update2 has resolved the issue. Have you already tried this as well?

Other than that, I can only recommend to contact the Technical Support team.

thanks for your answer. I had update2 installed all along. Last week I have upgraded to update3. Unfortunately it has not changed anything. I will contact the support.
