HOW CAN I CREATE REFERENCE AXES ON A 2D PLANE THAT ALLOWS ME TO DRAW AT THE INTERSECTIONS OF SUCH AXES?

Does turning on the grid solve the problem?

Perhaps put the tick marks at the origin?

ax.XAxisLocation = 'origin';
