App Designer - App window not fully displayed on transition to 2024A

32 views (last 30 days)
Hi,
I had a MATLAB GUI coded with App Designer and working under 2022A as you can see in window screengrab in image 1 below. It remains working and may be run from within the App Designer of 2023A.
I have now reopened the GUI in App Designer under 2024A, I get a warning stating that it was created under 2022A, and my app's main window, while fully displayed in the Designer, is not fully displayed when I run from within the Designer as seen in image 2 below. The tabs, File dropdown, and Help dropdown are not showing.
Can someone please help me resolve this issue.
Thanks
Shaun Forth

Hi Taylor,
My zip file called Matlab.zip is too large to upload to MATLAB Answers - you can downlaod it from my University's drop-off server here.
Within Matlab.zip there is a folder Matlab.
  1. Unzip the file and add the subfolder Matlab and all its subfolders to your path.
  2. Go to subfolder ProSAirPostProcess and open ProSAirPostProcess.mlapp in the App Designer of R2024A.
  3. Run the App and you should get the App opening as for my Image 2 above.
  4. Now open ProSAirPostProcess.mlapp in the App Designer of R2023A
  5. Try to Run the App and you should get the App opening correctly as for my image 1 above.

I think that the issue might be because of the Windows text scaling setting. The following workaround might be helpful in resolving the issue that you are facing.
1. Go to Windows Start and search for "Make text size bigger".
2. Open the setting for "make text size bigger".
3. Set the text size to "100%" and click on "Apply".
Or, you may want to upgrade MATLAB version to R2024b.

Dear Sachin,
Thanks so much, that has resolved the issue.
You mention upgrading to MATLAB R2024b. Has this issue been resolved in that release?
Kind regards and thanks again.
