Hi, I was unable to detect the erroneous portions of an image.pls help me in detecting the missing or damaged pixels of an image so that i can inpaint.

Where did you post your image? What defines damaged? Do you have salt and pepper noise? Have you found my salt and pepper noise demo? http://www.mathworks.com/matlabcentral/answers/21244-noise-detector-in-images

This is not a inpainting technique. Its Image denoising.
@vithal Bable as you appear to be answering on behalf of the original author, apparently knowing the original author's needs, then it would be appreciate if you would describe what kind of "missing or damanged pixels" @Abhinav Ittamalla had (and how they could be detected in the original image), so that a more specific answer could be posted for Abhinav.
Anyway, salt and pepper noise could be considered an inpainting method. It's just that the regions that are inpainted are usually just 1 or 2 pixels. It's just a matter of what terminology you want to use. Replacing "bad" regions with estimated "good" data could be described using a variety of terms.
