Startup actions prior to MATLAB project open

I understand that MATLAB project startup routine runs after all the project references have been processed and configured.
Is there a way how I can register/execute a startup routine that runs before the project references?

I understand that you want to register/execute a startup routine that runs before the project references.
MATLAB Projects currently only support startup and shutdown scripts that run after project references are loaded. There is no built-in "pre-startup" hook.
However, you can implement the same using a custom script. To do so, open the project via a custom script that performs the steps/checks you want to execute. Using this approach instead of double-clicking the .prj file directly will execute the custom script before loading the project references.

Hope this helps!
