Linking buttons in a matlab gui

Now, I create a GUI without guide. I want to link buttons' behavior, for example, as I press a button, another button cannot be pressed, and vice versa. Anyone can provide an idea how to manage it? I know it is easy in guide. Is there any method programmatically?

Generally speaking, you would create a uibuttongroup and put uiradiobutton inside of it.

However, I also want the button could control an edit box behavior and the edit box could also control the behavior of the button. Is there any solutions?
