I’m running MATLAB on an older workstation with an NVIDIA Quadro P1000. MATLAB will drop support for this GPU in the next release. What modern GPUs do people recommend for MATLAB’s deep learning toolbox (good CUDA/cuDNN support, reasonable VRAM for training models)? My budget is flexible — please suggest options across a few price points.

An important question is whether you need to train in double precision, or if single precision is acceptable.

Hi Jude,
I understand that you are currently running MATLAB on an older workstation with NVIDIA Quadro P1000 GPU and you want recommendations for modern GPUs for using MATLAB deep learning toolbox.
For checking the requirements for the GPU, you can refer to: https://www.mathworks.com/help/releases/R2025b/parallel-computing/gpu-computing-requirements.html.
You can also refer to this MATLAB answers post for some suggestions: https://www.mathworks.com/matlabcentral/answers/1720355-best-gpu-for-deep-learning-training
I hope, it helps.
