is it equal to inf ? because I have a matrix that contains some values equal at 1.3408*(10^154).and when i want to make Classical Multidimensional Scaling with [Y,eigvals] = cmdscale(D); I have this error :
Error using eig Input to EIG must not contain NaN or Inf.
Error in cmdscale (line 116) [V,E] = eig((B+B')./2); % guard against spurious complex e-vals from roundoff

That is known as ‘exponential notation’. It is equivalent to 1.3408 x 10^154.

My pleasure.
Your number is not equal to Inf. Inf is the result of a divide-by-zero operation, and NaN is the result of a 0/0 or Inf/Inf operation.
The largest floating point number in MATLAB is 179.7693e+306.
